Major past times: Kayaking, Mountaineering, Rock Climbing, Backpacking, Scuba Diving, Caving, & Flying.

About Me: Married, 4 children, 3 grandchildren, a Border Collie, work at Waterloo Fire Rescue. I use to teach Technical Rescue Courses at our Hazardous Materials Regional Training Center and was past President of the Cedar Valley Underwater Rescue Unit...NOW I JUST PLAY. I am the Web Doctor and creator of the above web pages.

One of my most challenging accomplishments was making it through the Smoke Diver program at the Mississippi State Fire Academy in the spring of '94. We started with 21 and finished with 7. Five days of pure Fire Fighting hell. The attrition rate speaks for itself.

If I could get credit for all the courses I've taken in my life I'd have a PhD in something. Some of the programs I've attended include: Live Nerve Agent Training at Ft. McClellan. EMERTECH's Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings. At the National Fire Academy; Emergency Response to Terrorism, Course Development, Instructional Methodology, Chemistry of Hazardous Materials & Leadership programs. Earned my Flight Instructor certificate at the Waterloo Airport. I've attended so many HazMat and EMS certification & recertification classes, each one with a "certificate suitable for framing", I could completely wallpaper a 6,000 sq. ft. home.

Military Service: U.S. Army 1974 to 1978 as a 91C. This took me from Fort Ord, CA to Ft. Sam Houston, TX to Ft. Bragg, N.C. to Ft. Polk, LA.
